Book Department, Chicago, Ill.  First published in 1926.  This copy a first edition, presumed first printing.  Hard cover, 265 pages.  Pages all clear and clean.  Binding is perfect.  Cover has a tiny bit of shelf wear.  Gift quality!  LUSCIOUS recipes!  I had a salad–a very long time ago–at the Edgewater Beach Hotel!

Shircliffe opens the book with a 15-page history of salads, including a discussion of salad’s nutritional benefits and their importance to “the ladies.” It would also be an excellent gift.  It is very much an “antique cookbook.” This cookbook is beautifully produced, with an impressive, embossed cover that really says “antique cookbook” and 16 full-color pages of photographs, very unusual in 1926.
