Cocktail Book: Sideboard Manual for Gentlemen, New Revised Edition, 1900, 1913: Cocktail recipe book NOT intended as a “bar-tender’s guide,” but “compiled for private use,” so “any gentleman will be able to provide his friends with most of the standard beverages, mixed in an acceptable manner.” Issued for the St. Botolph Society by L.C. Page & Company, Publishers, Boston. Originally published in 1900, this copy is from the 1928 sixth impression of the new revised edition, first published in 1913.
Hard boards covered in red linen, richly embossed with a cocktail glass pattern and with the title embossed in gold. 80 pages. 63 pages of cocktail recipes, plus non-alcoholic drink recipes and a brief discussion of wines. Book is in excellent antique condition. Front hinge has been mended with clear librarian’s tape. Back hinge is fine. Binding is loose, but holding. Pages are all clean and clear. Difficult to find!
