Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater Soup from Blue Moon Soup, 1999: One great recipe (among many) from Blue Moon Soup, with illustrations by Jane Dyer.

Blue Moon Soup: A Family Cookbook, 1999. Amazing Illustrations by Jane Dyer. Recipes by Gary Goss. Published by Little, Brown and Company, Boston and New York. Stated first edition, first printing. Hard cover book with dust jacket. 60 pages. Dust jacket has two small tears and general shelf wear. Book is in as-if-new condition.
Jane Dyer’s illustrations make this cookbook really, really special. However, Goss’s soup recipes are quite good and quite clever, like “(No) Duck Soup: Groucho Marx’s favorite lentil soup,” “Twist and Shout Soup: John Lennon’s great remake of the original;” and “You Can’t Elope Soup: Cantaloupe Soup.” The recipes are arranged by the season, which makes good sense to me. The recipes aren’t simplified for children. They are for parents and children to make together. Dyer says Blue Moon Soup was inspired by her years of cooking with her daughter, Cecily.
