Sylph (reducing) Recipe from Old Vanity Fair Tea:

Old Vanity Fair Tea Room Recipes Gathered from Far and Near, 1927, First Edition, First Printing. Nearly Mint!

Old Vanity Fair Tea Room Recipes Gathered from Far and Near, 1927: Cookbook compiled by Caro F. Chamberlain from recipes used in the Dining Room of the Women’s Athletic Club of Los Angeles, California. The first page of the cookbook says, “In compiling this little book, it has not been our object to introduce a comprehensive cook book, but to pass on to our many friends these recipes which we have tried and liked and found most satisfactory.”

This volume from the first edition, first printing of the cookbook was privately published by the Carl A. Bundy Quill & Press, Los Angeles. 160 pages. Hard cover with some shelf wear on the cover, especially on the edges. Binding is hand sewn. I don’t know if you can tell, but the cover design and the spine cover are lavender. Very endearingly, the entire book is printed in lavender ink. Even more endearingly, the first owner of this cookbook wrote several small suggestions and/or corrections on the recipes and two or three of her own recipes IN MATCHING LAVENDER INK. Really, absolutely matching! Other than these rather poetic additions, the pages in the cookbook are completely clean and clear. The binding is in mint condition. Definitely gift quality!
