The cookbook is here: Garrulous Gourmet
Garrulous Gourmet, William Wallace Irwin, 1952. First Edition, First Printing. Simply charming! There’s got to be a term for this. A novel with recipes? A memoir with recipes? This is a book with lots of text telling cooking-related tales with recipes interspersed in the tales. And, since the author lived in Paris for thirty years, and since he was the Secretary of the American Chamber of Commerce in France, the recipes are all for French dishes. (Somehow, their being in the text of stories makes them easier to follow.)
This book was published by the McBride Company, New York, in 1952. Hard cover with teal linen covering the boards. 208 pages. The dust cover, as you can see, is hardly worth mentioning. The book has very minor shelf wear, mainly on the edges of the cover. Hinges are perfect. Binding is perfect. Pages are completely clean and clear.
