Peanut Soup from Lagniappe Louisiana Cooking from the Kitchen of Chef Walter’s Blue Bayou Inn
Peanut Soup from Lagniappe Louisiana Cooking from the Kitchen of Chef Walter’s Blue Bayou Inn: One great recipe from the 1995 cookbook.
Of course we have the cookbook. See it here: https://www.vintagecookbook.com/product/lagniappe-louisiana-cooking/
Lagniappe: Louisiana Cooking from the kitchen of Chef Walter’s Blue Bayou Inn, Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, 1995. Paperback first edition, first printing, in as-if-new condition. 138 pages. Written by the chef himself, Walter Mazur. Illustrated by Floyd Sonnier.
Lagniappe means “something a little extra special,” and that’s what this cookbook has. Sonnier’s illustrations are lavish. There’s a tribute to Mazur, who died before the cookbook was published, plus an elaborate author’s preface and another forward. Then, there are the recipes: appetizers & hors d’oeuvres; salads & salad dressing; soups, gumbos, rice & vegetables; entrees; sauces; and desserts. We made the marinated shrimp for dinner today, and it was delicious!
