Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, 1884, 1891
Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, 1884, 1893: First edition, 1893 printing of one of the most famous antique cookbooks of the United States, Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, published in 1884 by Roberts Brothers, Boston. Probably the most famous American cookbook. Mrs. Lincoln’s copyright was for 1883. This is the 1893 printing of that edition, with the marbled brown, red, and tan cardboard boards and green linen binding. 536 pages, plus index, 24 pages of illustrated advertisements, AND 22 blank pages, for additional recipes, still blank. Boards are still attached, and binding is tight. The original owner of this historic cookbook must have been a serious cook. A few pages have spots from cooking–especially two pages in the cake section! I think you’ll be okay with that. Price reflects condition.
(A copy of Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, first edition, first printing, in excellent condition would be priced at well over $1,000.)
