Los Angeles Times Prize Cook Book, 1923. In Astonishingly Good Condition! The Los Angeles Times bundled up several years’ worth of its prize winning recipes and published them all in one volume. This cookbook must have been highly sought after and much used, because copies in good condition are very difficult to find. This copy is astonishing. It must have been kept in someone’s bottom drawer. Published in Los Angeles, printed at the Times-Mirror Printing and Binding House, in 1923. 340 pages, each jam packed with recipes contributed by readers. Every page is totally clean and clear. Hinges are perfect. Binding is completely firm. The heavy cardboard-covered boards are in nearly mint condition, with just a bit of shelf wear along the edges. Inside is a little paste-in sheet from a store named Gamer’s, printed with the prices of five national brands of coffee. What a find this cookbook is! Perfect for a collector.
