Gourmet of the Delta, Mint Condition: Gourmet of the Delta is a famous regional cookbook filled with recipes from the St. John’s Woman’s Auxiliary, Leland, Mississippi, and St. Paul’s Woman’s Auxiliary, Hollandale, Mississippi. It was first published in 1958. This copy is from that first edition, first printing.  In fact, it has no date of publication or date of copyright because the copyright wasn’t available when they first printed.   It is in nearly mint condition.  There’s a bit of shelf wear on the cover.  The pages are completely clean and clear.

It includes a 79-page supplement with complete index and more recipes dedicated to the groups’ “many traveling friends, who have brought back exotic recipes from ‘far away places.'”  The book has sketches of the two Episcopal churches, as well as other local landmarks.  Special occasion menus are included, including holiday menus. The entire cookbook contains a full range of recipes, from appetizers to desserts and candies. Perfect gift for a particularly deserving friend or relative.  This is a difficult-to-find cookbook.
