Its author was the co-founder of the Black Panther Party and one of the Chicago Eight, put on trial for defendants charged with conspiracy and inciting a riot in the wake of the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. This copy of Barbeque’n with Bobby is a stated first edition, first printing paperback published by the Ten Speed Press, Berkeley, California in 1988. (A hard cover copy was published simultaneously.) 142 pages. This is a cook’s copy. It was wet at some point, and some of the pages are rippled. But there are no food stains, tears, or writing. The binding is holding. The spine is in fine shape, with no weakness.
The book has instructions for cooking with hickory charcoal, recommendations about equipment, recipes for baste-marinades, recipes for barbecue sauces, and recipes for barbecued beef, pork, lamb, poultry, fish, hamburgers, sausages, hotdogs, chili, stew, and side dishes.
