Cook Book of Left-Overs, 1920, More Nurses in Training Movement, Rochelle, Illinois: Hardback cookbook self-published in 1920 by the More Nurses in Training Movement. Fifty cents of each copy sold went to a fund supporting “girls” in nurses’ training. The recipes were contributed by “Illinois Ladies,” and Mabel E. Sturtevant of Rochelle, Illinois, acquired the copyright and presumably organized the cookbook. 183 pages. Fabric covered boards. A very few pages (4-8) have very small, very light stains. The binding is in excellent condition. The hinges are also in excellent condition, with the back hinge reinforced with clear librarian’s tape. The cover has a very few light stains and some shelf wear on the corners and spine. The blank pages at the back, for extra recipes, are completely blank. The book stresses the use of left-overs in producing savings in cost, labor and energy.
