Description

Traveling Bartenders Guide, 1968, Gordon C. Coverly. Self-Published, Nearly Mint Bartender’s Book.  Bartender’s book compiled by bartender Gordon C. Coverly and self-published by Coverly Publishing, Department of Kittle Enterprises, Bishop, California in 1968.  109 pages.  Pasteboard cover has minor shelfwear.  Plastic comb binding is in excellent condition.  With the exception of the title page and the Preface page, every page is clear and clean.  Title page has three 1/4″ light spots.  Preface page has only one spot.  Pages are printed on only one side.

Nearly all of this book is the clear listing of cocktail recipes.  Exceptions include the Preface page, where Coverly argues that bartenders should all wear white shirts and ties, and the Bar Hints page, which are interesting.  Coverly says “All drinks that have ice in them should have as much ice as the glass can take.”  He also says, “Clean the bottom of the ice trays every night.  It will pay off.”  Why is that?
