Picayune Creole Cook Book, twelfth edition, printed in 1954, still with the recipes using wines and liquors customary before Prohibition. Published by the Times-Picayune Publishing Company, New Orleans. Original copyright 1901. This is a blue hard copy with an African American woman in scarf and apron stirring a mixing bowl. 438 pages. Clay coated pages. Cover is in mint condition. Cookbook hasn't been used, with the exception of a recipe for “Mother's Apple Pie” written in pencil on the back flyleaf and an inscription on the front fly leaf. Pages are all spotless. Hinges and binding are perfect! We're going to have the Rice Waffles on Christmas morning, I think.
