Sook’s Cook Book: Memories and Traditional Receipts from Deep South: Visually stunning cookbook written by Marie Rudisill and illustrated by Barry Moser. Published by Longstreet Press, Atlanta, Georgia, in 1989. Oversized, hard cover book with dust jacket. 198 clay-coated pages. Both the book and the dust jacket are in absolutely as-if-new condition. Definitely gift quality.

This cookbook is about the Faulk family of Monroeville, Alabama, one of the South’s most famous families. The premier cook of the family, Sook Faulk, and her special fruitcakes are lovingly portrayed in Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory.” Marie Rudisill, Sook’s niece and Truman Capote’s aunt, has collected family recipes, embroidered them with family stories, and produced a charming cookbook. Barry Moser’s watercolors are exquisite.
