Settlement Cook Book, Reprint of 1910 Edition with Bright Yellow Cover

$26.00

Description

Settlement Cook Book, 1920 Edition with Early Cover compiled by Mrs. Simon Kander, with tested recipes from the Milwaukee Public School Kitchens. Originally published by the Settlement Cook Book Co., Milwaukee, Wis. 596 pp. Everything from how to build a camp fire and stew rabbits (!) to “Ices, Frappes and Sherbets in Mechanical Refrigerators.” This copy is a reprint of the 1910 fourth edition, revised and enlarged from the first edition. This copy was published by the American Crayon Company, Sandusky, Ohio, and 9 Rockefeller Plaza, New York.  The title page says, “This is a Mary Perks Book.”  I have no idea what that’s about.

The cover  has a lot of shelf wear and the spine cover is missing.    The rest of the cookbook is in mint condition.  Pages are completely clean and clear.  Binding is very tight.  Hinges are worn and partly exposed, but holding.  This edition was printed without the advertising that other editions had.
