Description
Giant Cook Book, 1983, First Edition, First Printing: When I first saw this cookbook, I thought it would be for children. And, it could be. Actually, this is a collection of family recipes (prized and coveted) with hand lettered text presentation. The text of the cookbook is by Martin Marks. Adele Marks seems to have been the editor. The stars of the show–the artists–are Martin Marks, Richard Bates, and Klaus Schoenefeld. There’s a picture of a giant or some giant-related object on nearly every pages, and they are all wonderful.
This is a Canadian production, so you’ll have to convert the measurements. But you’ll want to go to the trouble because these are all family-pleasing, “good plain cook” recipes with large portions, great for a large family or for a family that likes leftovers. Soft covered book with 131 pages. Plastic comb binding. Published by Gadget Publishing, The National Press, Weston, Ontario. There’s a slight bit of shelf wear on the cover and at the corners of the pages. All pages are clean and clear. Each giant is better than the last!
