Fascinating and lively. If you are one of my many customers who reads cookbooks the way other people read novels, you will love this cookbook. Crosby Gaige was friends with everyone in the food world–and the theatre world, and the art world–during the 1930s and 1940. He had meals with these people and documented what was on the menu plus the recipes necessary to recreate the meal, plus all the ancedotes, gossip, and other details including cooking tips. The results are absolutely charming!
