Thirteenth edition, compiled and published by the Congressional Club, Washington, D. C., in 1998, with Sharon Archer, Texas, and Janet Hall, Ohio, as chairmen of the Congressional Club. The club is composed of wives of United States senators and representatives, as well as other notables, such as wives of Supreme Court justices. The club was begun in 1908, and the first cookbook was published in 1927.
This edition uses a wildflower theme, using wildflower photographs from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Austin, Texas. It also provides historical details about various Congressional Club activities, such as the International Doll Museum, begun in 1966 and housed at the club, the Evyan Collection of One Hundred Years of Great Fist Lady Fashions, and the Burning of the Mortgage celebration lead by Mrs. Harry Truman.
