Description
Blue Ribbon Cook Book: Selected Recipes by Famous Cooks, 1907, Annie R. Gregory: I need to do some research into Annie Gregory. She seems to have compiled huge cookbooks using the work of others, either from other cookbooks or from other cooks. This cookbook, Blue Ribbon Cook Book, was published by the L. W. Walter Company, Chicago, Illinois, in 1907. The author is Annie R. Gregory “Assisted by One Thousand Homekeepers.” It was “Approved and Endorsed by A. Chabrison for ten years chef of the Union League Club, Chicago, now of Grand Pacific Hotel.”
This cookbook has a hard back cover of pebble-textured coating over hard boards. The cover has quite a bit of shelf wear. It has 578 pages, all of them clean and clear. The front hinge is exposed, but holding. The back hinge is solid, as is the binding. The paper is of poor quality, so some of the individual pages are flaking at the edges. Otherwise, the book is in excellent vintage condition.
