Description
Austin Heritage Cook Book, 1982, Rare First Printing, First Edition, Austin Society Guild of Austin. Nearly Mint Condition. Rara stated first edition, first printing Austin Heritage Cook Book, from the Heritage Society Guild of Austin, Texas. (The 1990 second edition is much easier to find.) Beautiful sketches of notable Austin buildings decorate the first page of every chapter. Wonderful, local recipes for most common American recipes fill the book, but it also has a chapter called “Heirloom Receipts,” with some wonderful, unusual recipes. Another chapter, called “1886 Lunch Room Recipes,” has unique recipes from the 1886 Room of the Old Driskill Hotel. And a third chapter, called “Potpourri,” has sauces and jellies and preserves recipes that don’t quite fit anywhere else.
The Austin Heritage Cook Book is self-published by the Heritage Society. It has a heavy paper cover and a plastic comb binding, with 410 pages. The cover has a few light spots. The binding is perfect and every single page is clean and clear. Great find!
