First edition, copyrighted in 1942. Includes the Wartime Postscript. Has a fragment of the dust jacket–the front and spine portions. Yes, this is the cream-colored hard cover edition. Hard cover, 951 pages. All the pages are clean and clear. The binding is sound. The hinges are intact. The cover is perfect. I’d say this is gift quality, especially if the receiver is a really nice person. It’s one of the best copies we’ve ever had!
