Rich Brown Stock from Ou Est Le Garlic, 1977

Rich Brown Stock from Ou Est Le Garlic, 1977:

Yes, we have the cookbook.  See it here:

Ou Est Le Garlic: French Cooking in 50 Lessons, 1977, Len Deighton. First Edition, First Printing.  Cookbook written by the novelist Len Deighton.  (Cookbooks should always be written by writers who know how to write a novelist.)  It comes complete with cartoons–also by Deighton–that explain the awkward parts of cooking.   (All cookbooks should come with cartoons!)

This cookbook was published by Harper & Row, Publishers, New York.  This is a hardcover book with no dust jacket.  It has 234 pages, every one of them clean and clear.  The cover is in excellent vintage condition, with the exception of a scuff on the front, on the garlic stems.  The book is in excellent vintage condition.  Hinges are perfect.  Binding is solid.  If you want to learn about French cooking, this is a great place to start.  Stated first edition, first printing!
