Description
Sunset’s Barbecue Book, published in 1938 by Sunset Magazine, San Francisco, California. This copy from the first edition, first printing with real wooden boards for the cover. The first half of the book is “Barbe-Construction,” edited by George A. Sanderson, all about siting and building the barbecue, as well as the history of the barbecue. The second half, “Barbe-Cookery,” was edited by Virginia Rich, and it has all of the great recipes.
This is our first cookbook with building blue prints! Solid wire spiral binding. 71 pages. No dust jacket–you wouldn’t want to cover the real wood. Book is in nearly mint condition. The cover has a very few and very pale speckles from apparently being splashed with something. Other than that, the cover is perfect. Wire binding is in great shape. Pages are all clean and clear. Definitely gift quality. A very unusual present!
