Description
Playboy’s Wine & Spirits Cookbook, 1974, Thomas Mario: Large, hard cover cookbook with 210 pages, written by Thomas Mario and published by the Playboy Press Book in 1974. Personally, I find this title confusing. There are no drinks recipes in this book. All the recipes are for dishes that use wine or spirits in the recipe for soup, or for an appetizer, or in cooking a steak. All the recipes are “hearty;” that is, the recipes are designed to appeal to the “meat and potato” men of the 70s, but I’m sure lots of the guys you know–not to mention the women you know–would enjoy them. Lots of them are rather elegant.
This copy of Playboy’s Wine and Spirits Cookbook is from the first edition, first printing. The dust jacket is tattered and in pieces. The front hinge is exposed but holding, and it has been mended with cl3e3ar librarian’s tape. The binding is firm and the pages are completely clean and clear. The price for the book reflects its condition.
