Myhre appeared on NBC News and on Late Night with Dave Letterman, as the “Queen of Pies.” (I’ve been–many times–to Osseo and eaten–many times—the Norske Nook pies. They are astonishing!)

The cookbook has chapters on breads, assorted meats and gravies, fresh and canned treasures from the garden and wild patches, cakes, bars, and frostings, cookies and fry cakes, homemade ice creams and toppings, old fashioned beverages, good kitchen tools–and the pies! The pie chapter has hints for pies, hints for crusts, hints for meringues (the meringues at the restaurant are 3″ thick,) recipes for pie crusts, and recipes for pies, tortes, pan desserts, and puddings. This cookbook includes the recipe for sour cream raisin pie that Myhre won’t give to the New York Times.

Myhre’s first cookbook was published in 1993 by Crown Publishers, Inc., New York. This copy is a stated first edition, first printing. Hard cover with dust jacket. 269 pages. Dust jacket has a little shelf wear. Book is in mint, never read condition.
