ld Mr. Boston De Luxe Official Bartender’s Guide First edition, Fourth Printing (Revised) with Cameo Binding: Rare copy of Old Mr. Boston with the full color cameo-style picture of the Old Mr. Boston (notice the laurel wreath surrounding the portrait) inset, cameo-style, on the cover. Only this 1940 edition and the 1941 edition have this cameo binding. In 1942 the company returned to the standard embossed cover. The other revisions from the 1935 original edition are the four-page, full color “12 Popular Party Drinks Every Host Should Know” bound into the volume following the title page, and 16-page, full color “Fine Liquors in The Old Boston Tradition,” also bound into the book. Oh, yes, and the illustrations are pink instead of orange, and the end papers have a romantic drawing of a moon-lit lake, glassware, and stars, labeled “Wherein are solved the mysteries of mixed drinks.
