Description
A Dame’s Cookbook, 1973, Chick Anderson, Birmingham, Alabama: Cookbook compiled by Chick Anderson, illustrated by Margaret Bunn, and printed by Birmingham Publishing Company, Birmingham, Alabama, in 1973. First edition, first printing copy with a errata sheet glued to the inside cover. Self-published cookbook with 331 pages and many subject tabbed divider pages. Cookbook has a heavy cardboard cover and a plastic comb binding. The cover has a bit of shelfwear. The pages are completely clean and clear. I don’t think this cookbook was ever used.
Anderson proudly tells the reader that she was the state president of the Alabama State Society, Colonial Dames XVII century. She was obviously a more than competent cook and an accomplished hostess. The first section of A Dame’s Cookbook is on party foods, with appetizers, dips, sandwiches, and brunches. Then, there’s ten pages of punch recipes!
