Hard cover cookbook published in 1966 by Charles Scribner’s Sons, New York. 179 pages. No dust jacket. First edition, first printing. Book is in absolutely mint condition. Definitely gift quality. Printed on dark tan, very high quality rag stock paper.
Rogers offers sophisticated recipes and menus for very low cost meals. Chapters on soups; salads; egg and cheese dishes; beans, peas, rice, and assorted cereals; one pot meals; meats; breads; desserts; and a chapter called “Gilding the Lily” about relishes, vinegars, salts, jellies, and yogurts.
