Dine at Home with Rector, 1937, 1938:  A Book on What Men Like, Why They Like It, and How to Cook It by George Rector.  Hard cover book with dust jacket written by Rector, a self-described “fabulous restaurateur” of New York City in the 1890s, 1900s, 1920, and 1930s.   (His restaurant was called “Rector’s,” of course.  There’s a brief biography here:  He became a noted food writerThis cookbook is written in a conversational tone and is comprised of nostalgic stories, accounts of funny moments and conversations, and sprinkled with appropriate recipes.  There’s a chapter on pies, Of All the Crust!, one on bread, Brown the Wheats, one on salads, Salad Daze, etc.

Hard cover book is in nearly as-if-new condition, with just a tiny bit of shelf wear.  Hinges are perfect, binding is perfect, pages are completely clean and cleaaar.  Dust jacket has a few dings and folds.  250 pages.  Published by E. P. Dutton & Co., Inc., New York.  This copy is from the first edition, fourth printing.
