Description

Woman’s City Club Cook Book, 1923, Near-Mint Condition: You can find many reprint copies of this cookbook, but it is very difficult to find an original first edition.  This is the original!  Woman’s City Club Cook Book, compiled by The Library Committee of the Woman’s City Club of Chicago.  Published in Chicago, Illinois in 1923.  Woman’s City Club Cook Book, 1923, Near-Mint ConditionPaper covered booklet with 74 pages.  All pages are clean and clear.  Cover has a slight bend, not really a fold.

Cookbook has a recipe for “A Perfect Chicago,” detailing what’s necessary for an incorruptible city government.   Then, it has recipes for beverages, breads, hot breads and sandwiches, cakes, cookies and small cakes, desserts, entrees, meat, poultry and fish, pastry, pickles and preserves, salads and salad dressing, soups, and vegetables.

Since the cookbook was compiled by the Library Committee, you could probably guess that the whole thing is alphabetized.  It’s sort of endearing.
