Description
Wisconsin Extension Homemakers Cookbook, 1940-1990: Huge cookbook compiled by Wisconsin Extension Homemakers Council, Inc., Celebrating Their 50th Anniversary, 1940-1990. Spiral wire binding. Heavy cardboard covers. 314 pages. Excellent vintage condition. Wisconsin is my adopted home state, and I do love it. However, trust me when I tell you that there is something symptomatic about the fact that well over half of the 314 pages, 160 pages, are taken by these chapters: “Bars, Cookies,” “Bread, Rolls, Doughnuts, Muffins,” “Candy, Snacks,” “Cakes, Frostings,” “Desserts,” and “Pies, Pastries.” “Main Dishes” take 45 pages. “Salads” take 25 pages. The “Vegetables” chapter consumes a mere 29 pages.
This yummy cook book is in near-mint condition. Some slight shelf wear on the cover. Two recipes written on the blank pages. But the pages are all mint! Very difficult to find!
