Lily Wallace New American Cook Book, 1941, 1947, Nearly Mint Condition

$68.00

Description

Lily Wallace New American Cook Book. First published in 1941. This is the 1947 printing of the famous cookbook by Lily Haxworth Wallace of the Ballard School, New York City. This printing was published by Books, Inc., New York, and distributed by American Stores Company, with an introduction by Marian Kemp, Director of the Home Services Bureau. Hard cover, 930 pages. Nearly mint condition. Some very minor shelf wear on the cover, especially at the corners. The binding is in fine shape, the hinges are perfect, and the pages are all clean and clear.   The dust jacket is in excellent shape, and now is encased in Mylar. Even the cake and cookie pages are in perfect shape. (Those are the first pages I check.) The New American Cook Book is the only cookbook I know of with frogs’ legs specifically mentioned in the table of contents!
