Taste of Texas, 1949, First Edition, First Printing:  This famous Texas cookbook is a book of recipes edited by Jane Trahey and compiled for Neiman-Marcus by Marihelen McDuff.  A Taste of Texas was published by Random House in 1949.  This copy is from the first edition, second printing.  Hard cover with 303 pages.  Dust jacket has a few very small dings. Book is in mint condition! Includes not only a recipe index, but also includes an index of recipe contributors.  So, if you are looking for your long-lost Texas relatives, this cookbook might help!  Many recipes accompanied by witty Texas anecdotes, like “Soup for Edwin Markham.”
