Take One Bright Morning . . . Sun-Maid Nectars and Sun-Maid Raisins: This is the only advertising/recipe booklet I’ve found that has been reproduced as an historical artifact. That is, you can easily buy a reproduction of it, but it is nearly impossible to find an original. We just happen to have an original here at VintageCookbook.com!
Cleverly written booklet that opens with a Sun-Maid Pie, also known as a Raisin-Apple Pie, California Style, written as a “pie-poem.” Then, “Here followeth the ABC of Sun-Maid Raisin Cookery.” With one recipe per page per letter, like, “B is for Butterscotch Pudding.” The booklet doesn’t have a date. 32 pages. The only publication information is “Printed in U.S.A. by Neuner Corporation, Los Angeles.” This copy is in nearly perfect condition, except that the original owner wrote her name at the very top of the front cover, with “March ’32.”
