Southern Belle Cookbook, c 1979, Rare Benefit Cookbook

Southern Belle Cookbook, c 1979, Rare Benefit Cookbook:  Cookbook subtitled A Cookbook of Favorite Recipes Collected by Friends of Lynda Bell Harlan.  Proceeds to be used to benefit handicapped children.   This is a very Christian cookbook, with many prayers, poems, and sayings inserted among the recipes.  It is also a very practical, family-oriented cookbook.  For example, I quit counting chicken casserole recipes when I got to 36.  It has a chapter of VIP recipes, with recipes from many politicians and Southern leaders, starting with Rosalynn Carter, wife of President Jimmy Carter.

There’s no date of publication, but this cookbook must have been printed in 1979 or 1980, since Lynda Bell Harlan died in 1979.  No publication information, but cookbook appears to be out of Brentwood, Tennessee.  Presumed first edition, first printing.  Pasteboard cover with plastic comb binding.  266 pages plus index.  Pages are all completely clean and clear.   Cover has shelf wear and moderate stains.    This cookbook is very difficult to find.  I think there was only one printing.
