Price Reflects Condition.  This copy of the Settlement Cook Book has exposed hinges that have been reinforced with clear librarian’s tape.  A few pages (especially in the cookie section) have light spots.  The cover of the book is has minor shelf wear. This historic cookbook was compiled by Mrs. Simon Kander and published by the Settlement Cook Book Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This copy is from the twenty-seventh edition, enlarged and revised, published in 1945. Almost every page is clean and clear.  Hard cover with 596 pages, plus several pages of entertaining advertisements at the back.  Cover has minor shelf wear.  Better than these images, actually, because there are smudges on the scanner! Yes, this is the “way to a man’s heart” cookbook!
