Quiet Drinking: A Book of Beer, Wines & Cocktails and What to Serve with Them, 1933, Virginia Elliott:  Fourth printing of this combination cookbook and cocktail book, published in 1933 by Harcourt, Brace and Company, New York, published and printed after the repeal of the 18th Amendment to the United States Constitution by the passage of the 21 Amendment.  In fact, the title page of this volume says, “Quiet Drinking / Revised or ‘Repeal’ Edition.”  This printing is considered most desirable, since it is post-repeal.   Hardback book with 114 pages.

Book is in excellent antique condition.  The cover has very moderate shelf wear.  The front hinge is exposed, but holding.  The back hinge is perfect.  The binding is perfect.  All the pages are all perfectly clear and clean.  No dust jacket.  This is a very practical book.  The first chapter is on beer:  how to serve it and what food to serve with it.  The next chapter is on cocktails, again how to serve and what to serve with.  Last is wines.
