Princesses Cook Book, 1936, first American edition, Jenny Akerstrom: Book translated and slightly condensed by Gundrun Carlson who chose the “most typicakky Swedish” recipes to include. Jenny Akerstrom, the original author, composed the cookbook and dedicated it to Princess Margaret of Denmark, Crown Princess Martha of Norway, and Crown Princess Astrid of Belgium, all students at her cooking school. The original title from the original Swedish is “Prinsessornas Kokbok.” This translated version was published by Albert Bonnier Publishing House, New York. It has chapters on Sandwiches, appetizers and entrees, Soups, cereals and soup garnishes, Fish, Sauces, Meats, game and poultry, Vegetables, Desserts, and Breads, cakes and cookies.
This volume in in nearly mint condition. There’s just a bit of shelf wear on the cover, with slightly rounded corners. All 315 pages are in pristine condition, completely clean and clear. Hinges are perfect. Binding is completely sound. The pages are beautifully marbled on the ends.
