Description

Pot of Gold: Prize-Winning Recipes and How to Write Them, by Anne Voges, 1953. Published by A.D. Freese and Sons, Publisher, Upland, Indiana. Gathered together essays first published in various national magazines and newspapers. First edition, first printing. Published only in paperback. 123 pages.

Voges charmingly writes about composing recipes for many national recipe contests–and winning them, plus writing recipes for attractions like Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco, and restaurants like the Mark Hopkins Hotel and Cliff House, also of San Francisco. These essays plus some additional material are written in the first person, with lots of “local color.” You will enjoy it, I promise! This copy is in excellent vintage condition, with some dings and worn spots on the cover. The pages are all clean and clear. The binding is in fine condition.
