Pillsbury Kitchens’ Cookbook, 1979: These Pillsbury cookbooks can be confusing. For example, this one says “Pillsbury Kitchens’ Cookbook” on the title page and “Pillsbury Kitchens’ Family Cookbook” on the front of the book. It was first published in 1979 (the same year as the non-strawberry yellow Pillsbury,) but I think Pillsbury must have switched to this cover in mid-year and used it going forward. This book is from the 1987 printing. The editor is Renee Dignan, and the cookbook was published by The Pillsbury Company, Minneapolis, Minnesota. 638 pages. Hard cover edition, not a binder. No dust jacket. The cover is in mint condition. The pages are absolutely clean and clear. Definitely gift quality!

At VintageCookbook.com we try to provide you with your mother’s cookbook! I know lots of current recipe bloggers write proudly that their recipes are “not from your mother’s cookbook.” We think the recipes in your mother’s cookbook provided food that was nutritious and warm and colorful and just plain yummy! We know that just looking at the cover of your mother’s Woman’s Home Companion Cook Book makes you feel good. Holding her Betty Crocker Cookbook, or her Better Homes and Gardens, or Good Housekeeping Cookbook in your hands is better than nostalgic. And cooking some of those dishes for your children will pass on a great tradition.
