Pages are clean and binding is sound. Includes “Fish Notes,” by Rose Kerr and Kathryn Osterhaug, home economists for U.S. Fish and Wildlife, on nutritive value of fish, selection and preparation. Mrs. Glidden’s recipes include recipes for salmon, “fish other than salmon,” octopus, trout, shellfish, oyster, crab, clams, shrimp, and wild fowl, as well as seafood sauces and stuffings. There’s a chapter for large quantity recipes, and another for seafood salads. AND, she includes a number of short stories, poems, and personal anecdotes, such as how she copied down Swedish recipes while listening in on telephone calls when she was a night operator on a switchboard. Also includes information about the Olympia Oyster House, Olympia, Washington, and the Oregon Oyster House, Portland. Near-mint condition! One of my all-time favorite cookbooks.
