Nightingale, Jell-O Card No. 6

$29.75

Nightingale, Jell-O Card No. 6:  Near-mint condition!  We found two of these Jell-O advertising cards or package inserts tucked in an old cookbook.  This is a first edition advertising card, with no date, circa 1920.  It folds up three times, from 8 3/4″ long by 2 1/2″ high card into a 2 7/8″ by 2 1/2″ card.  As you can see, there’s a glamorous picture of the Emperor of China with a nightingale, as well as a picture of a Jell-O cucumber salad concoction.  On the back, there’s a Chinese fairy tale  story about the Emperor, the nightingale, and Death, along with four Jell-O recipes.  Again, near-mint condition.  (The software won’t allow me to post an image of the entire, long card.) Published by The Genesee Pure Food Co., LeRoy, N.Y.
