Description

New Settlement Cook Book, 1991, Revised and Enlarged Thirty-first Edition, Excellent Condition:  The tried-and-true recipes of the first Settlement Cook Book, first published in 1901, with a revised format, with additional recipes and modern methods.  The revision and expansion was done by the Settlement Cook Book Company, the company first established by the cookbook ladies of the Settlement in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after the first two editions of their cookbook proved their cookbook was going to be a smashing success. “The First Classic Collection of American Ethnic Recipes.”

This cookbook was published in 1982 and 1991 by Simon and Schuster, New York.  This copy is in mint condition, a hard cover book with perfect dust jacket.  813 pages.  The pages are perfect. The hinges and binding are perfect.  The cookbook is as new as if you’d just taken it off the shelf at Barnes and Noble.

At VintageCookbook.com we try to provide you with your mother’s cookbook! I know lots of current recipe bloggers write proudly that their recipes are “not from your mother’s cookbook.” We think the recipes in your mother’s cookbook provided food that was nutritious and warm and colorful and just plain yummy!  We know that just looking at the cover of your mother’s Woman’s Home Companion Cook Book makes you feel good. Holding her Betty Crocker Cookbook, or her Better Homes and Gardens, or Good Housekeeping Cookbook in your hands is better than nostalgic. And cooking some of those dishes for your children will pass on a great tradition.
