New Milwaukee Cook Book, 1938, 1982, Visiting Nurse Association of Milwaukee:  The New Milwaukee Cook Book was first printed in 1938.  It was compiled by friends and employees of Milwaukee’s Visiting Nurse Association.  All of the recipes are in the handwriting of their authors, and many of the original drawings by local artists are of familiar Milwaukee or Wisconsin scenes.  The cookbook was reissued in 1982 to commemorate VNA’s 75th anniversary–and to raise funds for the non-profit organization.

The cookbook begins with a chapter called the “Cocktail Hour,” then moves to soups and chowders, fish, entrees, meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, cakes and cookies, breads,, preserves, candy, and beverages.  There’s also a chapter with wheat-free, milk-free, and egg-free recipes.   320 pages.  Cover has shelf wear.  Pages are all completely clean and clear.
