Description

Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, 1883, 1895 First edition, 1895 printing of one of the most famous cookbooks of the United States, Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, first published in 1883 by Roberts Brothers, Boston. Probably the most famous American cookbook. This classic cookbook has a terrific subtitle: “What To Do and What Not To Do in Cooking.” Mrs. Lincoln’s copyright was for 1883. This is the 1895 printing of that edition, with the marbled brown–with bits of blue and red–boards and brown spine cover and corner covers. 536 pages including index, 24 pages of illustrated advertisements, AND 22 blank pages for additional recipes.  Hinges are in solid condition.   The binding is tight and holding.   All pages are clean and clear, with uniform tanning at page edges.

(A copy of Mrs. Lincoln’s Boston Cook Book, first edition, first printing, in excellent condition would be priced at well over $1,000.)
