Description

Monet’s Table: Cooking Journals of Claude Monet, 1989:  A stunningly beautiful book with text by Claire Joyes (wife of Madame Monet’s great-grandson) and photographs by Jean-Bernard Naudin.  Monet’s recipes were recreated in Monet’s own kitchen by master chef Joel Robuchon.  First published in France in 1989 by Societe Nouvelle des Editions du Chene, Paris.  English version published by Simon & Schuster, Inc., also in 1989.  First edition, first printing.  Both book and dust jacket are in as-if-new condition.

This book supplies Monet’s own recipes, taken from his cooking journals, with illustrations taken from Monet’s own paintings, plus pictures of his home, Giverny, his kitchen garden, Monet and his family and visitors.  There are also glorious double-page pictures of Monet’s garden and his water lily pond.
