King of Hearts Drink Book, 1955

King of Hearts Drink Book:  First edition of this small drinks book published by The Peter Pauper Press, Mount Vernon, New York.  1955.  Illustrations by Josephine Irwin.  Hard cover book with dust jacket.  64 pages.  Contains cocktail recipes, suggestions on wines and champagnes, notes on liqueurs and brandies, a chapter called “Tall Drinks for a Thirsty Knave,” and another chapter called “Gala Punches for a Party Princess.”  Dust jacket is slightly worn, especially at the edges.  Book is in mint condition, with the exception of having two punch recipes neatly written inside the front cover and on the fly leaf.  (Both recipes sound yummy.)
