International Cook Book, Filippini: The International Cook Book, by Filippini, formerly of Delmonico’s. First published in 1906 by Doubleday, Page and Company and entered at Stationer’s Hall, London. This copy is from the 1911 Doubleday edition. Written by Alexander Filippini with over 3,300 recipes from all over the world, with complete menus for three meals a day for one year. In all his cookbooks, Filippini writes in a charming first person and with loving detail, providing excellent instructions. An enormous book, with 1059 pages and a hard cover. Definitely a cook’s copy, with a damaged spine cover and hinges completely separated. A couple of pages are missing at the front, just some of the testimonies to Filippini’s excellence as a chef. All the cookbook pages are here, all clean and clear. A good reading copy only. Price reflects condition.
