With exception of the Boneless Pot Roast page, which has a few spots, the book is in as-if-new condition. Definitely gift quality!
In Pursuit of Flavor is arranged by food source rather than by dishes. So, the first chapter is “From the Gardens and Orchards.” From there it goes to “From the Farmyard,” then “From the Lakes, Streams, and Oceans,” then “For the Cupboard,” “From the Bread Oven and Griddle,” and last, “The Good Taste of Old-fashioned Desserts.” Lewis shares a wealth of kitchen wisdom in this book. Did you know, for example, that chopping some herbs releases more flavor than cutting them with sissors?
