Published by Robert Clarke Co., Cincinnati, 1888. This copy is from the 1905 new and enlarged edition. Cover has some water spots. Fly fly leaf has some foxing. Cover is linen-covered boards with minor shelf wear. Hinges are in good shape. Binding is tight. Pages are all clean and clear, with some tanning at the borders. Cookbook in excellent antique condition.
Indexed nineteenth century cook book with 36 additional blank pages at the rear to write in one’s own recipes, about half filled in. An extremely well-known, historic classic in the Cook Book genre. The lengthy subtitle reads, “A New and Practical Cook Book containing Nearly a Thousand Recipes, many of them new, and all of them tried and known to be valuable; such as have been used by the best housekeepers of Kentucky and other states, together with many miscellaneous copyrighted by recipes useful in families, etc.”
